The pilot begins February 1st, 2021. The program provides riders served by ADA paratransit services and clients over the age of 55 expanded access to transportation with greater flexibility to and from medical appointments as well as to the grocery store and pharmacy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new program, called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ridecarta.com\/services\/ondemand\/\">CARTA OnDemand<\/a> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-83915 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/uzurv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/exit_icon2x.png\" alt=\"Opens in new window.\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 16px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 16\/15;\" \/> will greatly enhance accessibility, schedule flexibility, and customer experience for ADA and non-ADA transportation, providing eligible riders direct, private rides to appointments in the Medical District from across the Charleston peninsula.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uzurv.com\/paratransit\/\">UZURV\u2019s mobility platform<\/a> will provide CARTA riders with credentialed drivers trained with the ability to assist riders who need a little bit of extra help. UZURV provides life-changing non-emergency medical transportation with the option of wheelchair accessible vehicles to serve all members of the rider community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe pilot program that CARTA has undertaken with UZURV is focused on one thing: putting our riders first,\u201d said CARTA Board of Directors Chairman Mike Seekings. \u201cThe enhanced level of service offered through this partnership will make traveling easier for the most vulnerable transit users.
